E komo mai! Come on in! Papakea J201 offers the best Papakea has to offer with its quiet shady-side location and broad ocean views. J201 is a 1-bed, 1-bath condo that accommodates 2 guests. The large windows on two sides of the living area offer sweeping views of the ocean, the island of Molokai, the palm court and the courtyard gardens with their tropical tiki torches. Inside, the décor has a subtle tropical vibe with a dining table that seats four along with two club chairs, making this an inviting space to gather and socialize. The open-ended lanai is a great place to relax and take in the ocean and Molokai views all day. The bedroom features a Cal King bed. The kitchen is fully equipped for meal preparation and entertaining your guests. There is an in-unit washer & dryer and plenty of storage for your groceries, supplies and gear. Because J201 is an end unit, there is no corridor outside the bedroom and it is located away from the elevator and maintenance and service areas, making it one of quieter Papakea units. J201 features split system air conditioning in both the living and bedroom areas. Reliable Wi-Fi service at 100-200 Mbps is provided in the unit by Spectrum.
Papakea Resort offers lush tropical landscaping, koi lagoon ponds, oceanfront saltwater pools, hot tubs, shuffleboards, golf greens, pickleball, and tennis courts! It is located just North of the famous Ka’anapali Beach. Walk to nearby local shops, cafes, restaurants, and grocery stores. It is a quick drive to Whalers Village and many of Maui's top beaches like Kaanapali, Napili Bay, and Kapalua Bay.

Work hours are 8am to 5pm Mon-Fri. During demolition, preparation, and repair work, walkways and the elevator will remain open to foot traffic. Occupants should expect construction noise and dust particularly during the grinding activities. During the walkway coating and drying time, AOAO staff will be stationed on the lanai side of the building to assist with screened access to occupied condos as the entry door will not be accessible. Work progression: Work will begin at the A building and work in building letter progression. Work on the J Bldg is slated for 1019-10/28/2026. Update as of 9/16/26: The schedule for the J building ground floor traffic coating project has been adjusted to: 10/20-11/19/26. No work 10/30-11/8 and 11/13-11/15/26.
· Phase I Seawall Repair Project. Dates August 10-September 2026. Scope of work: Replace rocks along the ocean side of the seawall and backfill the sinkholes that have developed adjacent to the seawall. General Construction work hours 8am to 5pm Mon-Fri. Ocean-Side Rock Restoration 6am to 7pm Mon-Fri depending on daily tide conditions. Work progression: Work will begin at the Lanai ocean side stairs area. Work will then progress from North to South, which is subject to change. Rock stacking will begin where ocean and beach conditions allow.
Posted 9/24/26: The Lanai putting greens will be closed for maintenance from 9/29-11/10/26. The Molokai putting greens will be available during the Lanai service maintenance.

J201 is very nice. It is an end unit so it has a side window that you can see the pool and the ocean plus the wonderful view from the lanai. This unit has AC in the living room and bedroom plus ceiling fans. The kitchen is well stocked with just about anything you might need to fix your own food. The king size bed is very comfortable and we had no trouble sleeping. The owner also has beach chairs, beach towels and other items to use at the beach. There is a grocery store and other food places nearby. We had a wonderful time and look forward to coming back again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Papakea and especially in J201. It was very comfortable, especially the king size bed. Having AC was a special treat. We didn't eat many meals there but the kitchen was well stocked with just about anything you would need to fix a meal. The owner has put a lot of thought and effort into making visitors feel welcome and comfortable. This unit is on an end so there is a window on the side which gives a view of the pool and the ocean. The lanai has a wonderful view of the grounds as well. We look forward to visiting again and highly recommend this unit.

We have stayed in many different units in Papakea and J201 is the best. As soon as we walked in, we felt at home. We cook most of our meals in, so the well-appointed kitchen was appreciated. They even have a basting brush and sharp knives! We enjoyed the view from the lanai watching the whales (there were lots this time) and our favorite time of day was just after sunset, when the tiki torches are lit and there is the evening glow in the courtyard. Magic time at Papakea! We'll return next year. Our reservation is in.

We could not have loved this rental more! It was so comfortable, offering many unexpected amenities (boogie boards, snorkeling gear, beach towels & umbrella, golf putters & balls for the putting green). There was a well stocked kitchen with everything we needed for many meals at the condo & it was an incredible location! We were within a quick drive to many of our favorite beaches. We were able to walk to sand very easily at the corner of the property as well. The property was pristine & so well maintained. The pool was perfect for us & our kids & we enjoyed the outdoor grill (by the pool). We hope to stay again in the future & would highly recommend this condo! Enjoyed a relaxing 2-week stay in our favorite condo at Papakea. It was clean and thoughtfully equipped by the owners. We appreciated the extra-large beach towels, and the hi-speed Wi-Fi connection. On the couple of days when the trade winds died, the air conditioning made both the living room and bedroom very comfortable. We'll be back.

This place is perfect! I loved that the floors were tiled instead of carpeted, so you know there isn’t sand and grime imbedded everywhere. An abundance of towels, hand towels and washcloths. I love that there were plenty of things available for a beach day such as boogie boards, pale and shovel, flippers and coolers! Everything was clean. Check-in was easy! If we make it back to Hawaii we are definitely going to try to book this same place. The owner must have traveled plenty herself to know what people would want in a rental!! We traveled with a couple other families who stayed on other properties and naturally, comparisons were made. It seems like our place was the best of the three!!

The views from our condo were amazing. My favorite part was sitting on the balcony morning, noon, or night. The condo was in close driving distance to Lahaina Harbor and Kaanapali Beach. We were able to walk to shops, restaurants, the store, and food trucks. The kitchen was nice for preparing meals. We took advantage of the pool, mini putting green, pickleball courts, and shuffle board that were available to us at the resort. The AC in the bedroom and living room kept us cool. We had a lovely stay at Papakea Resort in J201. I also felt the Aloha vibes from the staff members as well and appreciated how accommodating they were.

Our stay at Papakea J201 was excellent. My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this condo very much. The bedroom has a king bed that is comfortable and has plenty of storage for a person to put your clothes away and not have to live out of a suitcase. The separate air conditioner and ceiling fan in the bedroom was great, (a person could have one or the other going at night). The bathroom was a good size. The only down fall was that it could use a couple more bath towels. The washer/dryer worked great and we were supplied with enough laundry soap and fabric softer sheets to last us the eleven days we were there. Kitchen is very well equipped. There is everything you need to cook all your meals at the condo, and everything works 👍. The condo supplies you with a small and a little bigger cooler, beach towels and beach chairs (the chairs need to be replaced). The living room area has plenty of room for two. The balcony is great for morning coffee or evening meals. All and all this condo was great, would definitely stay at this condo again. Check in was easy and staff at Papakea Resort are friendly and helpful. We will be back and look forward to staying at Papakea J201. Thank you for a awesome stay. Donna

Beautiful condo with ocean views and views of the courtyard and pool. It was surprisingly quiet and peaceful sitting out on the patio, enjoying the views every morning and evening. The condo was very clean and fully equipped with everything you could need for a relaxing vacation. Very good communication from the host and employees at check in and very friendly service from the entire team. This was our first time renting a condo instead of staying at a hotel and we loved it. We hope to return and stay at this place again in the near future.

My husband and I loved the property and J201. View from balcony is just like the pictures. Loved eating breakfast on balcony. Walked to food truck park and brought supper back to room to eat it on the balcony. Very clean! Great relaxing location. Can walk to some restaurants and grocery store.

J201 is a hidden gem at Papakea. We have stayed in a number of Papakea units, but this one is the best. The side windows in the living room make this condo feel much more open and airy. Also, better ventilation for the trade winds. We kept the drapes open most of the duration of our visit. The kitchen is well-equipped for both regular meal prep, and for special dinners. The king-sized bed was comfy, and there's no noise from road traffic or trash pick-up -- perfect for relaxing. Management and Front Desk staff were friendly and responsive to our requests. Internet was fast!! Duke's Beach House is a great recommendation for lunch. Can't wait for out next trip to Maui.

J-201 at Papakea is a great location on the resort property, close to the Lanai pool and spa and overlooking one of the expansive putting greens that guests can use. The condo was beautifully kept, the bed and sleeper sofa were both comfortable and everything (TV, appliances, aircon, hot water) worked well. We loved our stay and would definitely return.

Thank you as room was well furnished and stocked. We loved seeing the whales from the lanai and waterfront. We did request to have a light bulb changed, and although someone came quickly and tried to find the issue while we were out, the LED was not replace as appeared they did not find the flashing LED bulb in the bathroom.

Highly recommend this unit in the Papakea complex. Many properties in the area are quite dated, but this complex is really well maintained and this unit specially is very nicely updated (bathroom, kitchen, living room). Plus, the location is great, facing north so you don’t get the hot sun in the afternoon and you can still hear and see the ocean. The balcony was the best part of the unit honestly. Sunsets are beautiful at this location, with perfect views of Molokai. In addition, it’s walking distance to the Fish Market and a food truck lot. Although it’s not beach front, the views are enviable and there are plenty of beaches within minutes. Definitely going to book again!

Our stay at Papakea (J201) was delightful. The condo was very well appointed, comfortable, clean and convenient to anything we needed. Best part was the view of the ocean from the lanai! For sunsets, just a few steps to the sea wall - open for all to enjoy. The pool, hot tub and mini-golf were a bonus. We highly recommend this place.

While this condo was a bit dated (could use wall scraping & fresh paint and perhaps less furniture in the living room for ease of use of the sofa bed), we truly enjoyed our stay here. The customer service before, during, and after was excellent. The condo was clean and well stocked, especially the kitchen supplies. The partial ocean view was pleasant and the grounds were well maintained. The sofa bed was comfortable and easy to use. The property is well managed and thought out, plus it's close to our favorite beaches. Thank you for the stay!

It was very pleasure to stay at this place. Great resort with beautiful view. Nice location right next to lots of food trucks and small kids-friendly beach park. Also right next to ABC store. Very close to other famous restaurants and shopping mall within 3-10 minutes.

Perfect Getaway!

This was a perfect getaway, indeed! Location was great on the west side of Maui and close to all the nice beaches. Amazing views of beach and mountains from the balcony, great for a small family. Apartment was nice, modern and well-maintained. Washer and dryer were a huge plus, as were the beach chairs and surf board! Facility includes tennis courts and padel. Good staff, as there was a minor maintenance problem with the kitchen sink leaking, which was fixed promptly. . Incredible six days, we had a blast!

Wonderful Resort, Well-Equipped Unit with Great View.

The unit was nicely stocked with everything we needed for a stay-cation. The side window in the living room giving the cook a view of the ocean makes this unit seem much more open than others we've stayed in in Papakea. The new AC system was nice on those nights when the trade winds weren't blowing. MPS was responsive to our single request, so we were pleased.
