Papakea J406 Description

Papakea J406 is a 2-bed, 2-bath condo with stunning blue hues, modern furnishings, Maui-inspired designs and artwork. J406 can host up to 5 guests and there is a queen-size sleeper sofa in the living room for additional sleeping space. Upstairs is the loft bedroom which includes a queen-size bed, a twin-size bed, and its own bathroom! The main living area includes a private lanai, Smart TV, and a window AC unit to help keep you cool. Whip up your meals in the fully updated kitchen featuring stainless steel appliances and counter seating. Down the hallway you’ll find the convenient washer and dryer as well as the main bathroom and master bedroom. A comfortable king-size bed with plenty of closet space, ceiling fan and Smart TV awaits you in the master bedroom!

Papakea Resort offers lush tropical landscaping, koi lagoon ponds, oceanfront saltwater pools, hot tubs, shuffleboards, golf greens, pickleball, and tennis courts! It is located just North of the famous Ka’anapali Beach. Walk to nearby local shops, cafes, restaurants, and grocery stores. It is a quick drive to Whalers Village and many of Maui's top beaches like Kaanapali, Napili Bay, and Kapalua Bay.

No Resort or Amenity Fees!
Parking is free for one vehicle; additional vehicles are $5/day. This fee is collected by the Resort's Front Desk staff upon arrival.

*** Papakea Resort Notices ***
Papakea Resort is completing property improvement projects. Guests should expect construction noise during daytime working hours. Dates and work areas are subject to change due to weather, tides, or field conditions. Please contact our office for complete details on the following resort improvement projects.

· Walkway Coating Project. Dates August–November 2026. Scope of work: Remove existing traffic coating, concrete repair and resurface preparation (including grinding), application of multi-coat traffic coasting system (each layer requires extended drying time). Work hours are 8am to 5pm Mon-Fri. During demolition, preparation, and repair work, walkways and the elevator will remain open to foot traffic. Occupants should expect construction noise and dust particularly during the grinding activities. During the walkway coating and drying time, AOAO staff will be stationed on the lanai side of the building to assist with screened access to occupied condos as the entry door will not be accessible. Work progression: Work will begin at the A building and work in building letter progression. Work on the J Bldg is slated for 1019-10/28/2026. Update as of 9/16/26: The schedule for the J building ground floor traffic coating project has been adjusted to: 10/20-11/19/26. No work 10/30-11/8 and 11/13-11/15/26.

· Seawall Repair Project (Phase 2): Dates 10/12/26 to 7/31/27. Scope of work: Replace rocks along the ocean side of the seawall and backfill the sinkholes that have developed adjacent to the seawall. General Construction hours: 8am to 5pm Mon-Fri. Oceanside rock restoration schedule depends on daily tide and ocean conditions. Construction will begin near the Molokai shuffleboard area and is expected to continue there into early 2027. Work is expected to proceed towards Building L until complete.

Posted 9/24/26: The Lanai putting greens will be closed for maintenance from 9/29-11/10/26. The Molokai putting greens will be available during the Lanai service maintenance.

For a cancellation notice received after 14 days prior to the check-in date, a refund will not be issued other than the departure cleaning fee.

Our family of 4 (all adults) thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of J406! It fit us perfectly! It is located on the top floor of the building, which allows for a vaulted ceiling and loft bedroom. We loved the big open feel of the space. All photos shown of the spaces and views are accurate. Though on the back corner of the property the view is not lacking, even from within! The owners have placed a genius mirrored wall that allows you to see the ocean and active waves when standing in the kitchen and living area.-just beautiful!! This unit came with comfy beds, plenty of towels (bathroom and beach), beach chairs, a cooler, beach umbrellas and even a boogie board! The kitchen well equipped and was perfect for fixing breakfast, quick lunches and had everything to help us have a fun cookout using the grilles near the pool! It was warm during our stay, so having AC and ceiling fans was a real plus! This is a great find for accommodations in the Kaanapali/Lahaina area. It is close to the always fun ABC Store, a grocery, gas station and an amazing array of food trucks and local restaurants. While there is not a beach as part of the property, top notch beaches and snorkeling coves are so close! We are beach and water people, but quite honestly we found sitting on the lounge chairs, on the manicured grass right at the ocean wall, watching the sunset and not having to wash off sand before heading back to the unit wonderfully refreshing. We had the best time in Maui and the Papakea Resort was a big part of that. You can't go wrong with this resort or unit J406!

Unit J406 at Papakea exceeded all of our expectations. The condo was spotless and spacious, making it perfect for our family. One of the highlights is the balcony, with its direct view of the ocean and the beautifully maintained resort grounds. The resort itself is gorgeous, and every staff member we interacted with was kind and welcoming. We called to ask about early check-in, and My Perfect Stays gladly accommodated us a few hours ahead of the check-in time. The resort is just a short walk from an ABC store and a variety of food trucks, which have delicious food. Overall, we had an amazing stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommend!

It was the perfect condo for our family of 5, and it had everything we needed for our week-long stay. Also, the small AC window unit kept the entire unit ICE COLD!! The upstairs loft was a perfect separation for my teen boys to have their own space, with a “walk-in” closet and full bathroom. The staff at Papakea were so nice and accommodating, and our My Perfect Stay hosts were always super responsive and friendly. Out of their control, we had a minor plumbing issue, but it was taken care of so quickly and professionally, and we really appreciated not having to change rooms. We also had a full ocean view, perfect for morning coffee on the balcony and spotting rainbows! 10/1, highly recommend and will likely be back!!! Thank you!!!

The unit was the perfect location! We had beautiful views of the pool + ocean from our lanai, and ate breakfast out there every morning. The resort is right on the water, with plenty of lounge chairs for guests to use. The air conditioner worked well in the living room, but wasn't very effective at keeping the bedrooms cool. Thankfully it wasn't too warm during our trip and we kept the windows open most nights which was fine. The unit was pretty clean - however we did find a few clumps of black hair in various places (no one in our group had black hair haha). Overall, we would definitely stay here again for the gorgeous location and ease of access!

This unit was perfect for our family of 5. The property is beautiful. We loved the views and proximity to the beach. The pool and hot tub were a great way to relax after a full day exploring Maui . It was great to be within walking distance of several yummy restaurants and grocery stores. The people on staff were very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again.

Family trip to Maui- good place to stay

The property was in a good location. Pool was good as was the hot tub at the property. Unit had everything you need. Food options and grocery not far away. Only downside was the downstairs guest room didn’t get air from the window mount AC in the dining room so the room was a bit warm even with the flip out panel windows open and ceiling fan on. Upstairs room seemed to be cooler. Overall was very clean, beds were fine, size was good, balcony was nice to have breakfast on, and had a decent view from the balcony of the property and water. They have tennis courts on the property to. Parking close to the unit at night was sometimes a challenge. They also have family activities on site like leai making. Would consider to stay again but would prefer some AC in the downstairs bedroom as was a bit warm during our stay outside in June like in the upper 80s.

We stayed in this condo for 10 nights in mid June 2022. The condo was great. The views from the lanai were awesome and we really enjoyed going out to the beachfront cabana for evening sunsets. The unit was clean and all our needs were met. Only issue was a crying baby next door which disturbed sleep one night due to the bedroom windows backing the outdoor walkway. This was not the owner's fault & just the "luck of the draw". It seems that after a while the parents closed their bedroom window which helped cut the noise a bit. They must have moved the baby to another room because after about an hour, all was good. I realize babies cry and backing to the walkway you will also get other outside noise. Just a minor inconvenience which did not affect our overall great experience.

The View From The Balcony Is Nice And The Sunset View From The Pool Area Was Perfect

This unit worked well for our family of four (with two adult children). It was nice to have the third bed and a kitchen. The view from the balcony is nice and the sunset view from the pool area was perfect. We used the pool and the pickle ball courts during our stay and walked down to the sandy beach just off the property. Also within walking distance is a convenience store and an area of food trucks that we visited for dinner one night. My Perfect Stays made the check-in process easy and explained the amenities well. Although the unit needs a little updating, we enjoyed our stay and would consider Papakea again.

Great Home Base by the Beach

Our family of four (two adult children) enjoyed our stay at this resort. We ran around the island hiking, going to the luau, visiting the volcano, and dining in Lahaina. It was nice to have a third bed and a kitchen. We used the pool and the pickle ball at the resort and we walked to the sandy area of the beach next door. The sunset view from the lawn is amazing. My Perfect Stays was very accommodating at check-in and check-out and provided a lot of local suggestions. The unit needs a little updating but nonetheless, I would stay here again!

Great Stay

We had a great stay. The unit's setup was perfect for our family and the deck is awesome for morning coffee with a view. We appreciated the beach towels, boogie boards, cooler, ice pack, umbrellas, and beach chairs. Those really made the trip a wonderful experience as we used them every day for our outings! Mahalo!

beautiful place with gorgeous view and centrally located. Sunsets and whale watching from the property were incredible. The property manager was very hands on making sure our stay was wonderful. The view from the Lanai was gorgeous! We called once because a socket was out in the bedroom and Some parts of the curtain needed to be hung properly. We were so Impressed with the maintenance person That came and took care of everything. Lastly there was a issue with Papakea not allowing any beach equipment on the lanai. I would recommend keeping the beach chairs and umbrellas but finding somewhere to store inside. Mahalo!

Wonderful views of resort and ocean in distant from the 4th floor balcony. Good A/C unit to cool down when it’s warm outside and comfortable 2 bathrooms + 3 beds setup. Loft makes it fun as well for families. Bbq grills available for guests to use at the pool area. Unit was stocked with beach towels and beach gear (chairs, umbrellas, body board, cooler). Great Beaches

Five Star rating for this amazing resort!

We met several family members in Maui to celebrate an engagement, an 80th birthday and a 30th birthday. We all stayed at your resort and it was perfect! We celebrated with a barbecue one evening at your outdoor grilling area. The rooms were spacious and the kitchen and living area were very nice. Some of the extras that we didn't expect were the portable cooler, beach towels, beach chairs and umbrellas. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation or place to make priceless family memories!

Great location with amazing views. Loved the grounds and the ability to just sit and take in the sounds and sites of the ocean. No immediate beach access, but it’s a quick drive away. Loved this place and we will definitely be back!!

Amazing View!

Great condo, with a view of the ocean and all the basic amenities - exactly as described in the write-up (because we've been burned before, this is something I now call out in all my AirBnB reviews). It's perfect for families with a 5 minute walk to food-trucks, an ABC Store and a grocery store. There is no real beach off of the property but you can drive a short distance to get to some fabulous beaches. I would definitely stay here again!

Great Location!

This was a great location. There were food trucks within walking distance to go and try out some great food and be outside. We stayed here with our two teens and it was perfect for a family of four. I like our location as it is close to the parking lot and a quick walk to the pool area. The lounge chairs overlooking the ocean were always available. The place was great. Only grievance was when we walked in the sliding closet door for the washer and dryer was "off" and leaning against the washer and dryer. Also, the drapes/curtains were not fully attached to the curtain rod. I was surprised these two things weren't "fixed" before we checked in. Strange. We did report it upon checking in and the curtains were never fixed. ???? Thus, we could not close them completely for privacy. Only complaint.

Perfect in every way

The condo was just as pictured. We had a wonderful view and the location was very convenient. Although we did not cook any meals, the kitchen had everything we needed. There is not one negative thing I could say about this unit or Papakea. We cannot wait to come back!

Great stay and location

We enjoyed our stay and the property matched the description well. The location is wonderful for being able to enjoy many of the sites. Unfortunately we had a problem with the washing machine not working. Although it got repaired, it took many calls to the property manager to finally get resolved. It was disappointing the lack of follow-up from the property manager even though it was requested multiple times. Overall though, the property was clean, family friendly, and quieter than larger resorts which was nice for our family.

Beautiful property!

This property is even better than we could have imagined. Clean, spacious, well stocked and expertly maintained by My Perfect Stays. Super responsive and attentive hosts! Incredibly comfortable beds, plenty of towels and tons of beach and property amenities. Our boys (age 13, 11 & 9) LOVED the putting green, koi pond, shuffle board and pickleball courts! Incredible view from the balcony. Close to Black Rock/Ka'anapali beach (go early and park in Whaler's Village). Cruzin Cafe around the corner has great breakfast/lunch. Walking distance to plenty of markets and other cafes. Really loved the adorable Honokowai beach park just down the street. Highly recommend Papakea, this unit (J406) and My Perfect Stays for families--it really was perfect stay!

Great location and amenities! Didn’t realize until the last day that the front desk rents out the tennis and pickle ball equipment which was really fun. Well kept grounds and fun for all ages. Included in the room were putters and balls and 4 beach chairs. Would stay here again!

Amazing stay

We had a wonderful time, although it was difficult with something’s due to COVID. The condo was so clean and well put together. Beach chairs, umbrellas etc. I would definitely stay again.

Perfect Location!

Perfect location- and the sunsets were amazing! The condo was a great space and had everything we needed. The balcony was perfect for morning breakfast. We used the beach chairs every day and having the beach towels was a plus.

What a beautiful place to spend a week at in Hawaii. Loved the thoughtful touches and welcome gift! Check in and out was a breeze! This place was close to so many awesome places. I definitely would stay here again!

Great location in West Maui

Not quite a mega resort (which is a good thing), the unit was well equipped for our family, and in a good location for our daily explorations. At the end of the day we would return to enjoy the sunset from large oceanfront lawn and enjoy the pool.
